Sharing bookmarks with DELICIOUS...

Finding engaging, multi-sensory, interactive websites that stimulate the mind (and sometimes the funny bone) is a passion for me. Anything that catches my attention usually does a child, probably because I am a child-at -heart (and wouldn't I have loved this stuff way-back-when!)

Bookmarking my favorite websites and links has been ongoing for years, but never to a location that could be accessed from nearly anywhere on nearly any computer, especially with all of the other features (of which I am not yet proficient). This is my first foray into mass collaborative bookmarking and I am excited by it's potential. My first baby step can be found at:

If I get this right, I will be able to share some of the wealth of educational programs and creative thinking / interaction with many more children-at-heart and the kids they love and want to inspire. I also hope to keep learning along the way - perhaps with your help.

Lab Learning

Working with young children for over two decades and raising my own has given me a tremendous appreciation for the varying styles and rate of growth and learning among us all. While we strive to teach that learning is always positive and often fun, we fail to make that a reality for many children.

My goal is to show children that they all can and should enjoy learning - if not in the classroom, then somewhere else. It may be at the library, the sport's field or in the computer lab, but there is always something to be learned and an adventure in finding it.

While working with various grades in the computer lab, I have tried to find ways where the computer can add to the learning experience. Often times it has been through educational interactive websites targeting specific subjects at the age/grade appropriate level for these students. Finding an activity that corresponds with the teacher's lesson plan and student's needs is a win/win - and that makes my day.

Perhaps as this blog gets off of the ground I may be able to share some with you and you with me. I'd like that.
